Padel vs tennis vs squash: which sport to choose?

← back to blog

All three sports are played with a racket and a ball, but the experience is significantly different. If you're just starting out, this will help you choose.

Tenis

Classic, large court (23.77 × 8.23 m for doubles), long rallies, technically the most demanding. Play relies on forehand/backhand technique; serve is crucial. Playing as a complete beginner is frustrating; the first months are spent in lessons with a coach. Physically more about endurance than explosive power.

Padel

A smaller court (20 × 10 m) surrounded by glass walls, always played with four players. The racket is perforated without strings, the ball is slower. A beginner can play a meaningful match after the first hour; the technique is simpler. Physically dynamic (short sprints, reactions). In Praha, explosive growth since 2023.

Squash

The smallest court (9.75 × 6.4 m) has four enclosed walls and is played one-on-one. It is very fast and physically brutal, one hour of squash equals approximately 900 kcal. Technically less complex than tennis, but the most physically demanding of the trio. A classic in Praha for decades, with a dense network of facilities.
